I AM: The Transcender

‘I am the Transcender’ is a 2-minute film that features Nepali transgender human rights activist Bhumika Shrestha who speaks about her multifarious identities. Bhumika has been incarcerated by the police and detained at airports for her gender presentation, but still has a message of love and hope for the world. The director Nicola Desouza thanks Per Arne Bertheussen from the Norwegian group 3-11 Porter for the use of the song ‘Surround me with your love’ that plays through the film.
