Becoming Vegan: Alyssa’s Story has been nominated best short documentary by the GreenspaceNYC festival for films on sustainability in New York, New York. It also won first place for the Vegetarian Resource Group video contest and placed second in the college documentary series of the Spring Creek Festival held in Arkansas to showcase student filmmakers. The short documentary was also officially selected at the Wildlife & Environment film festival in Kolkata, India.

Shannon R. Giedieviells is a global award-winning, published, driven, passionate and creative multimedia professional and independent filmmaker with specializations in cinematography, visual effects, motion graphics, editing, and storytelling along with a concentration in instructional design and technology. Most of her films have been screened and awarded in New York City, but her work is showcased worldwide as she is published in European film magazine Cinewomen, which showcases female filmmakers. Shannon recently graduated college as Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts and Humanities and a minor in Digital Media. She also teaches visual effects, audio, and film techniques virtually on Youtube and Vimeo.
